Ireland's Dog Behaviour & Health Consultancy — 2021–2025
Snout & About has officially closed its doors, and I've been sitting with that for a while — trying to find the right words to honour what this has meant to me, to the dogs, and to every single person who walked this road with us.
When I started this, I had a clear picture of what I wanted it to be: evidence-led, welfare-first, and deeply human. What I never fully anticipated was just how profoundly the people around it would shape it into something so much more than I imagined.
To my extraordinary colleagues and network — the consultants, trainers, vets, physiotherapists, groomers, researchers, and the incredible allied professionals who gave your time, your expertise, and your hearts to this work. You were the backbone of everything Snout & About stood for. The standard you set was exceptional, and I am so proud of every single one of you.
To the professional community in Ireland and beyond — thank you for your generosity, your collaboration, and for pushing me to think harder, work better, and care more deeply. This industry is in good hands because of people like you.
To my clients — every family who reached out, every person who sent that first nervous message, every guardian who stuck with the process even when it was hard — you are the reason this work mattered. The courage it takes to ask for help, to admit you're struggling, and to commit to doing better for your dog — I saw that in all of you, and it was a privilege every single time.
While the consultancy has closed, the resources we've built remain here for the community. The tools, databases, and apps were always designed to outlast any one business — and I hope they continue to serve you well.
With gratitude, admiration, and so much warmth,
These tools and databases were built to support the wider community, and they remain freely available. They were always meant to be bigger than any one business.
Our suite of practical digital tools for behaviour tracking, training plans, and client communication — built for families and professionals alike.
Browse the apps →A curated, growing library of peer-reviewed research in dog behaviour, pain science, learning theory, and welfare — organised for practical use.
Access the database →Templates, frameworks, and professional resources for trainers, consultants, rescues and welfare organisations — our contribution to raising the standard.
Explore the tools →Snout & About was always more than a consultancy. It was a commitment to doing this work the right way — ethically, collaboratively, and with the dog's wellbeing at the centre of every decision.
Grounded in current science, not tradition or convenience.
Every decision made with the dog's physical and emotional wellbeing first.
Behaviour understood through the lens of health and physical experience.
Better outcomes through vets, physios, trainers and families working together.
Clear, compassionate communication — no false promises, no overwhelm.
Ireland's dog behaviour community is exceptional. It was an honour to be part of it.
To every colleague, client, partner, professional friend, and welfare advocate who gave their energy to this work — you made Snout & About what it was. I am endlessly grateful.
